The £120 million De Havilland Campus in Hatfield was opened in September 2003 and has a large modern learning resource centre with 800 computer work stations and thousands of textbooks.
There are currently about 1300 international students from over 90 different countries studying at UH.
Its excellent reputation in computer science, engineering, business and education has been complemented by new developments in art and design, health, sports science and law.
UH has Britain's largest learning resources centre with 1,600 study places and 800 computers.
UH offers a range of new foundation degrees and encourages wider participation through links with four local FE colleges.
Pioneers internet-assisted learning with StudyNet, which means that students can tap into the university's learning resources wherever they are in the world.
Excellent facilities, which include a glittering 460-seat auditorium for conferencing and arts events, a fabulous £15m new sports complex and a state-of-the-art new learning resources centre, to match the award-winning learning resources centre on the main campus.

Academic Strengths

The University has received Excellent or equivalent ratings in a number of subject areas reviewed in the government’s independent assessment of teaching quality: it achieves 23 out of 24 in nursing, psychology, business and management, economics, tourism; 24 in philosophy.
The independent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) gave the University 5 out of 5 in history with a grade 4 in philosophy, nursing, psychology, physics and computer science.
There are currently 19 Schools of Study offering a range of courses at all levels, from foundation through to undergraduate and taught and research postgraduate degrees.

Programmes Offered

International Foundation Programme (IFP)	:	Provides the extra study needed to enter into a Bachelors degree. The IFP contains subjects to prepare you for any Bachelors degrees at UH.
Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCE)	:	Improve your level of English before beginning study on a Bachelors course. The English language tuition in the FCE is nearly twice as much as on the IFP, but has no study of academic subjects
International Bridging Programme for Postgraduate Study (IBP)	:	Suitable for those wishing to study for a Masters degree, or for a PhD, whose English is not at the required level. The IBP contains both English language and academic study.
Undergraduate	:	A wide variety of subjects is available in different schools, which include Aerospace, Automotive and Design Engineering; Art and Design; Business; Computer Science; Education; Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering; Humanities; Law; Life Science; Music; Nursing and Midwifery; Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy and Radiography; Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics; Psychology; Social, Community and Health Studies.

Accommodation

The University guarantees students a place in University accommodation for their first year of study and has a great variety of accommodation on and near to our campuses to suit every student budget.
At the Hatfield College Lane Campus the accommodation is fully furnished, with mainly single study bedrooms and shared bathrooms/showers.
At the Hatfield de Havilland Campus there are 1600 comfortable single study bedrooms with en-suite facilities and network points.
Kitchens at both sites are fully equipped with fridges, freezers, microwaves, cookers and lockers.
