DMU is situated at two centres: Leicester and Bedford. It is only a 40 minute train journey away from London.
Six faculties offer over 400 courses, and DMU has more than 23,000 students and 3500 staff. DMU is also part of a strong network of associate colleges.
Almost 93% of postgraduates entered employment, further study or a combination of the two within 6 months of completing their course.
All DMU campuses have healthcare facilities staffed by teams of doctors, nurses and physiotherapists.
Excellent facilities and services, including libraries provide information services, computing facilities, student learning advisory services, careers advisory service, a wide range of leisure and recreational facilities and activities, etc.
A 4 week pre-sessional orientation course is free to all international students from mid August each year. This course will raise students’ IELTS score by the equivalent of 0.5.

Academic Strengths

The University has received Excellent ratings in some subject areas reviewed in the government’s independent assessment of teaching quality, such as it achieves 21 for art and design, pharmacy, history of art, molecular biosciences, town and country planning; 22 for drama, dance and cinematics, psychology, nursing, midwifery and health studies; 23 for sport and leisure, land and property management; 24 for politics. (The highest score is 24)
DMU has a long history of excellence in teaching, learning and research. DMU is one of the new universities receiving a high proportion of top grades of 5s and 4s (government Research Assessment Exercise). Achieved 5 out of 5 for politics and international studies, and English language and literature.
Its MBA programme is accredited by AMBA, and DMU is one of only 10 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development centres of excellence in the UK.
The University offers the only degree course in contour fashion in the world and the only single honours Footwear Design course in the UK.

Accommodation

All international students are guaranteed University Managed Accommodation throughout their course at both campuses.
Hall of Residence are owned by the University; purpose built accommodation which is leased to the University and it is managed in partnership with the property provider.
All the halls at DMU Leicester offer self-catered accommodation and are located on or near the City Campus plus a variety of shops, bars and leisure facilities.
DMU Bedford offers a mix of catered and self-catered accommodation. All catered accommodation is located on the campus and a small self-catered unit it located ten minutes walk from the Polhill Campus.
